Call for Chinhoyi dumpsite relocation, noble
I T is really disturbing that one wakes up in the morning only to be greeted by a bad odour coming from the waste. When the waste is decomposing, it smells like no body`s business and there is no normal person in this world who enjoys the stenchy smell especially coming from the garbage.
It is against this background that residents who stay in Chinhoyi`s high density surbub of St Ives close to the dumpsite call for its relocation. It is not healthy for the local authority to locate a dumpsite close to residential areas where people live. Residents want to enjoy delicious meals in the comfort of their homes not in the presence of an odour.
Several organisations, the residents themselves have urged the council to relocate the dumpsite. Residents associations namely; Combined Chinhoyi Residents Association, Chinhoyi Residents Association and many others have called for the urgent relocation of the dumpsite.
On the other hand, Chinhoyi`s director of
Health Services said that the council will
relocate the dumpsite to a new place.
We urge the council to do so with speed to
save the health of the masses.
Children play at the dumpsite and this is
not health at all.
